The PBAT Door-to-Door Movement has suspended its activities connected with the 2027 presidential campaign for one week following a military aircraft crash involving Nigerian security personnel.

The decision was announced in a statement by the movement's National Coordinator, Sunday Asuku, who cited a directive from its Grand Patron, Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo.

The group said personnel from the Nigerian Navy and other services were among those who died in the crash. It also referred to Air Force and Naval personnel while expressing sympathy over the incident.

Ekpemupolo described the deaths as a serious loss to the country's armed forces and expressed condolences to President Bola Tinubu, military authorities, the Ondo State Government and the relatives, friends and colleagues of those affected.

The movement also acknowledged the role of the Nigerian Air Force, Nigerian Navy, emergency responders and residents who took part in search and rescue efforts under difficult conditions.

In addition to pausing its campaign programme, the group called on military authorities to investigate the crash and make the process transparent, with the aim of establishing its cause and reducing the risk of similar incidents.

The statement ended with condolences to the families of the deceased and prayers for members of Nigeria's armed forces serving across the country.
