Otti Mourns Abia Pilot Man-Ugwueje Killed in Ondo Air Force Crash
Abia State Governor Alex Otti has condoled with the family of Squadron Leader Ahamefule Aham Man-Ugwueje, an Umuahia native and Nigerian Air Force pilot who died in the October 5 aircraft crash at Igbokoda, Ondo State.
Abia State Governor Alex Otti has expressed condolences following the death of Squadron Leader Ahamefule Aham Man-Ugwueje in the Nigerian Air Force aircraft crash in Ondo State.
Man-Ugwueje, who hailed from Umuahia, was among the pilots aboard the Air Force ATR-42 aircraft identified as NAF 931. The plane crashed at Igbokoda on Monday, October 5.
Otti's reaction was contained in a Tuesday statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma.
The governor described the loss of Man-Ugwueje and the other military personnel involved in the crash as a deeply distressing event for their relatives, colleagues, the Air Force and the country.
The statement also noted that Man-Ugwueje had married Flight Lieutenant Damilola Adekunle in Abuja about two weeks before the crash.
Otti extended sympathies on behalf of his family, the Abia State Government and residents of the state to the victims' families, the Umuahia community, the Nigerian Air Force and the Federal Government.
He also offered prayers for those who died in the crash.
