NGX Falls for Fifth Session as Market Capitalisation Drops ₦256bn
Nigeria’s equities market closed lower for a fifth straight session on Tuesday, with the All-Share Index ending at 250,273.50 points and total market value declining by ₦256bn. Thirty-four stocks finished lower, compared with 26 gainers.

The Nigerian Exchange recorded another negative session on Tuesday, taking its run of consecutive declines to five trading days.
The All-Share Index lost 394.36 points, equivalent to 0.16%, and finished at 250,273.50 points. Market capitalisation also declined by ₦256bn to ₦162.496tn.
The report linked the broader weakness to losses in stocks including First Holdco, Unilever Nigeria, Fidson Healthcare, Ecobank Transnational Incorporated and Stanbic IBTC Holdings.
Market breadth was negative, with 34 declining stocks compared with 26 that gained.
Tripple Gee & Company led the gainers after rising 9.77% to ₦2.81 per share. Livestock Feeds advanced 9.74% to ₦10.70, while NPF Microfinance Bank increased 9.52% to ₦4.60.
Sovereign Trust Insurance added 8.23% to close at ₦2.50, while Wapic Insurance gained 7.69% and ended the session at ₦2.38 per share.
Critical Minerals Financing Corporation recorded the biggest percentage loss, falling 9.88% to ₦3.65. ABC Transport declined 9.70% to ₦6.05, while CWG dropped 7.23% to ₦19.25.
Zichis Agro Allied Industries lost 6.58% to finish at ₦17.05, and Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals fell 6.17% to ₦7.60.
Trading activity also weakened. Investors exchanged 579.25 million shares worth ₦36.07bn in 41,072 transactions, with total volume down 33.8% from the previous session.
Access Holdings recorded the highest trading volume, with 192.576 million shares worth ₦5.781bn changing hands. United Bank for Africa followed with 32.747 million shares valued at ₦1.473bn.
Zenith Bank recorded transactions involving 30.821 million shares worth ₦4.185bn, while Fidelity Bank traded 29.916 million shares valued at ₦691.686m. Guaranty Trust Holding Company completed trades in 19.564 million shares worth ₦2.596bn.
