Women supporting the All Progressives Congress in Kwara Central have taken their 2027 mobilisation campaign onto the streets of Ilorin, promoting President Bola Tinubu, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and other figures seeking the party's backing in forthcoming contests.

The Saturday procession started around the General Hospital Roundabout before moving through several areas of the state capital. Its route included Surulere, Agaka, Oja Oba Market, Gambari, Ita-adu, Kankatu, Omoda and Alore. Participants wore coordinated clothing, carried campaign materials and danced to songs supporting the APC.

Monsurat Lawal, Senior Special Assistant to the Kwara governor on Women Mobilisation, led the event. She said the gathering was intended to build electoral support for AbdulRazaq, who is seeking the APC ticket to represent Kwara Central in the Senate, as well as Tinubu and other party candidates across the state.

Lawal also appealed for unity among APC members as preparations for the elections continue. She argued that the administration's record would encourage residents to remain with the party. Her assessment of the government's performance and its likely effect on voting represents the position expressed by the APC organiser during the rally.

Sherifat Balogun, Deputy Speaker of the Ilorin West Legislative Council and councillor for Warah-Oshin/Egbejila Ward, used the occasion to appeal to party members who have grievances to reconcile with the APC. She described the turnout as voluntary and said the participants had not been paid to attend. Balogun also presented the gathering as evidence of support for AbdulRazaq's administration, a claim made by the party official rather than an independent measure of public opinion.

Another participant, Zakariya Jumai of Oloje Ward, focused on women's participation in government. She credited AbdulRazaq with creating opportunities for women and young people to serve in positions including commissioner, senior special assistant and special assistant roles. Jumai also predicted electoral success for the APC and encouraged supporters to continue canvassing for its candidates.

Falilat Saka, also known as Iya Eleja, said the mobilisation extended beyond Tinubu and AbdulRazaq to other APC candidates. She specifically mentioned Kwara State House of Assembly Speaker Salihu Yakubu Danladi among those receiving support from the women involved in the campaign.

The Ilorin procession represents an early grassroots mobilisation effort by APC supporters in Kwara Central as political groups position themselves for 2027. The source reports strong confidence from participants about the party's prospects, but it does not provide independent polling or other evidence measuring wider voter preferences in the state.
