Awka Conference to Explore Digital Growth Opportunities Across South-East
The Pivot Africa plans to bring about 5,000 participants to Awka later in October for a conference focused on technology, entrepreneurship and economic opportunities in Nigeria's South-East. Organisers say the event will connect traders, students, innovators and business owners with digital tools, networks and mentorship.

About 5,000 people are expected to attend Pivot Conference 4.0 in Awka later in October, where organisers plan to focus discussions on technology, business development and economic opportunities across Nigeria's South-East.
The event, organised by The Pivot Africa, is scheduled to take place at the Stanel Dome in Awka. Expected participants include entrepreneurs, investors, policy leaders, educators, students, women working in technology and grassroots innovators.
Ahead of the conference, the organisation held an interactive session with journalists at Kodex Africa in Awka. Its Executive Director, Ifedi Ralph Eze, said the initiative is intended to help people in the region use digital platforms to reach new opportunities and strengthen their businesses and skills.
Eze argued that the South-East has not embraced digital tools as widely as it could, despite the region's strong commercial activity. He said changes driven by technology are already affecting how businesses operate and how people buy and receive goods.
According to the organisers, the conference is designed to help traders, entrepreneurs, students and business owners gain access to useful knowledge, professional networks and practical tools that can support growth.
The organisation also runs the Pivot Challenge Bootcamp, which exposes participants to entrepreneurship, technology and innovation while encouraging them to develop practical solutions to problems.
Speakers at the media session discussed digitisation, business expansion and community development. Favour Ogidi, one of the participants in the discussion, highlighted the role women can play in technology-led transformation.
The organisers said activities connected to The Pivot are also intended to provide mentorship, business connections and opportunities throughout the year, rather than limiting engagement to the main conference.
